Senegal Salt Stamp
One of two stamps in Senegal's "Lakes and Streams of Senegal" set
issued on November 15, 2014 depicts Lake Retba or "Rose Lake."

In Senegal, Lake Retba, close to Dakar, is popular for its pink water and the high salt content (40% in some areas). Separated from the Atlantic Ocean by a narrow dune, the lake is infiltrated by seawater and evaporation creates salt deposits that ae exploited by West African miners who use the salt to preserve fish.
