Norfolk Island
Used to harvest and store salt, which was used for preserving meat, Norfolk Island's salt house dates back to 1846.
A salt cellar from the HMAV Bounty is depicted on the cent denomination of Norfolk Island's "Items from Norfolk Island Museum" set issued on April 5, 2005. The migration of citizens from Pitcairn Islands to Norfolk Island in 1856 is commemorated on stamps and a souvenir sheet issued on June 5, 1981.
