Cambodia Salt Stamp

Cambodia issued a set of five stamps and two souvenir sheets (one perforated and
one imperforate) depicting "Harvesting Salt in Cambodia" on August 18, 2021.

Traditionally most of Cambodia's salt production came from mining but the practice of harvesting salt from evaporation ponds has expanded dramatically in recent years. Almost 5,000 hectares of salt ponds in Kampot and Kep can yield 200 thousand tonnes of salt in a year when there is not too much rain. Although the use of industrial techniques is expanding, artisanal prodction continues to be important.
