Bolivia
Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt flat in the world. Formed over 40,000 years ago, when several prehistoric lakes dried up, leaving behind mineral-rich all-white salt crust, this ancient lake bed covers 10,000 square kilometres of land, high in the Andes (8,714 feet above sea level), in southwestern Bolivia.
