Bermuda Salt Stamp
Stamp issued on April 30, 1987 depicting Winslow
Homer's 1899 painting, "Salt Kettle" Bermuda.

Bermuda's "salt kettle" is a peninsula where salt traders stored the salt they started bringing from the Turks and Caicos Islands in 1678. The salt, valued in trade for the preservation of meat and fish, was an important source of wealth in Bermuda where the local resources were limited.
