S.S. Santa Marta
A sister ship to the Metapan, the Santa Marta was built by Workman, Clark & Co., Belfast, Ireland in 1909 for the United Fruit Steamship Company but flying the British flag until after the outbreak of World War I. With a displacement 4,601 gross tons, she was 378 feet long and 50 feet wide and had two masts and one funnel. Her triple expansion steam engine and single screw provided a service speed of 14 knots. She worked the New York-Jamaica-Cuba-Central America service and was scrapped at Baltimore, Maryland in 1948.
